Every year, USA corporations, government, and nonprofits spend $6.3 trillion on programs that address some of the nation’s and the world’s biggest social, cultural, health, human development and environmental challenges. However, key indicators tell us that this massive investment is not alleviating, or at least not making a major impact on, these challenges to the extent needed. In an era where social issues have huge economic consequences, we can no longer afford to guess what works. We need to know. We need nonprofits that make greater impact, not more nonprofits!
