ActiveCampaign for Nonprofit Email Broadcasting

ActiveCampaign for Nonprofit Email Broadcasting celebrates NANOE’s full-throated endorsement of ActiveCampaign and their team of fundraising experts. As you well-know, NANOE knows how to engage donors using email. Over the past decade we’ve spent tens of thousands of dollars with Mail Chimp, Constant Contact, and Emma. In 2020, NANOE’s marketing team performed an industry-wide search for the best email broadcasting platform for charities. We did deep-dives into Send-In-Blue, Campaign Monitor & ActiveCampaign. We tested their products using five separate markers:

  1. Boarding Process
  2. Ease-of-Use
  3. Inbox Deliverability
  4. Technical Support
  5. and Price

After 18 months and hundreds of hours of work we’re pleased to announce ActiveCampaign is America’s #1 Nonprofit Email Broadcasting Provider. Here’s why:

ActiveCampaign for Nonprofit Email Broadcasting

Regarding AC’s boarding process: My first encounter with ActiveCampaign occurred within hours of signing up for our 14-day free trial account. AC specialist Jeff Rosales hosted my phone calls graciously answering my many questions about their multiple products. This new friend ensured I chose the right features that met NANOE’s needs. Jeff was fun, engaging, thorough and remains a member of the NANOE team to this day. He’s just a phone call away.

Regarding AC’s ease-of-use: AC’s user interface is ALL IN ONE PLACE. I logged in and immediately felt like I knew what I was doing. Their web platform is intuitive and allowed me to upload my list, verify my sending domain, build a gorgeous email message and send out a flight in about an hour. EASY-PEASY-LEMON-SQUEEZY.

Regarding inbox deliverability: This feature was very important to us. Our evaluation was based on real-time metrics over a six-month time period. We increased our “opens” by 15%, “click-throughs” by 30% and our donations doubled. How? Our messages made it into reader’s Inboxes not their junk and spam folders. THIS WAS BIG. ActiveCampaign works with gmail, hotmail, yahoo and comcast to make sure your messages get read.

Regarding AC’s technical support: When I first started It only took me 50 minutes to send my first email flight. Having gotten the basics under-my-belt it was time to explore the power of ActiveCampaign. My customer service specialist, Spencer Wild (what a great name), was gracious and patient. He taught me how to migrate our files from our current vendor, create email automations, build custom reports and supercharge deliverability. Spencer spent the time I needed to change the way we email. He’s on speed-dial and is a valuable member of NANOE’s marketing team.

Regarding AC’s pricing: Our productivity went up and our monthly bill went down BY FORTY PERCENT. Pricing starts at just $70/month for everything I outlined above. You can start at $15/month and work with your sales specialist to purchase exactly what you need. It doesn’t matter where you end-up your costs will decrease.

Here are a few of my other favorite features:

Automated emails: An email address is the most valuable thing a person can give you, so if a person is going to share that with you, you better treat it with respect. Automated emails through ActiveCampaign will allow your organization to automatically thank the person for subscribing to your list, send automated emails on birthdays/anniversaries, and acknowledge and thank them for donations.

Mass communication emails: Sometimes there’s an update that a large number of your donors or subscribers would benefit from receiving. This is the perfect opportunity for a newsletter or announcement (ActiveCampaign calls these “Campaigns). With minimal time, and very little design effort, you can reach all your subscribers at once to let them know about any updates, changes, or upcoming events. These can be particularly helpful in your peak seasons (Giving Tuesday, landmark events, etc).

CRM (Client relationship manager): There are many reasons for a nonprofit to use a CRM system, but chief among them is the need to communicate with specific people in a specific manner for a specific reason. For example, you’re hosting a golf outing in San Diego. With the ActiveCampaign CRM, you could add all your contacts in Southern California to a pipeline, and track their RSVPs and attendance all in one place. Once
people are registered, use the CRM to send automated reminders and information about the event, as well as follow ups once you wrap up.

While I can rave about ActiveCampaign all day, the best way to discover what I’ve experienced is to sign up for ActiveCampaign’s 14-day free trial SIGN UP HERE. This will allow you to test drive, check out their platform, and start sending emails to your base right away.

This is a matter of stewardship. If you and your charity care about time, costs and increased donations then ActiveCampaign is right for your nonprofit. Feel free to email me with your questions at [email protected]
