NANOE CNC Credential Exam
Congratulations! Your application for NANOE’s Certified Nonprofit Consultant has been accepted! You are now a candidate to take the NANOE Certified Nonprofit Consultant Exam.
The NANOE CNC exam consists of 221 questions. The exam covers the following topics.
- What a consultant is
- Creating and managing a successful consulting practice
- Working with clients
- Creating effective proposals and contracts
- Establishing fees
- Managing RFPs and retainers
- Growing your consultant business
- Marketing your consulting business
- Using the internet for business purposes
- Basic knowledge of federal and state nonprofit finance and compliance regulations
- Ethical consultant practices
- Maintaining efficacy and self-esteem during the highs and lows of consulting practice
The following materials should be read and understood before starting the exam. Each section of the exam is linked to background readers or reviews of codes and regulations as found on the IRS and state charitable corporations’ websites. The exam is an open book exam and not timed. Candidates must achieve 70% or higher to pass the exam. The exam is accessed online. Candidates are able to complete a section, go offline, and return. Candidates can enter and exist as many times as needed. If you re-think previous answers, you are able to go back to adjust exam answers. Once the exam is completed, the candidate will be told immediately what their score was and, if they passed, will be able to download their Certificate of Achievement immediately. Candidates will also immediately receive feedback on exam questions that were correct and not correct.
