Mr. Busha has more than 20 years of successful communications experience working in private and nonprofit firms, higher education and state government.
Prior to starting his own small business, Busha Brothers Communications, LLC, Mr. Busha worked as Development Manager for Genesis Clubhouse, on Lincoln Street in Worcester, securing $750,000 as part of a capital campaign for a new training facility.
Currently, Mr. Busha also serves as Grant Writer and Special Events Coordinator for Fellowship Health Resources, Inc., (FHR) a $36 million mental health organization based in Lincoln, RI, with operations in 6 states along the east coast of the United States. Last year, Mr. Busha secured $4.9 million in federal and state funding for FHR programs which includes five vocational-based Clubhouses similar to Genesis Club, a Clubhouse International certified training center.
Mr. Busha previously worked as Director of Government Relations in support of small businesses around the country, providing small business advocacy on issues ranging from health care to taxes. He served as editor of a small business advocacy quarterly newsletter distributed to 20,000 small businesses nationwide. Additional experience includes work in marketing, public relations and media relations for a state agency, a higher education institution and a Worcester-based nonprofit veterans’ organization, generating international, national and local news across all media. He also has helped direct major international, national and local fundraising programs and events.
He has received recognition for his volunteer efforts from several agencies including the Salvation Army and the Martin Luther King, Jr. Empowerment Center. Most recently he received recognition for his support of veterans and veterans programs during his career. He currently serves on the Massachusetts Audubon Broad Meadow Brook Advisory Board and the UMass Medical School External Review Committee – Center for Clinical and Translational Science. Mr. Busha earned a Master's of Science degree in Communications from Clark University in Worcester and a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Business Administration from Worcester State University.
